Modifying Recipe "Vegan Caramel Corn"

Ingredients:
about 5 quarts popped popcorn (if using air-popped, add 1/2 tsp. sea salt into melted mixture below, otherwise-do not add any extra salt) 1/2 C. Earth Balance® Buttery Spread 1/2 C. agave nectar/pure maple syrup blend or either one in a total combination of 1/2 cup 3/4 C. brown or turbinado (raw) sugar 1 1/2 tsp. blackstrap molasses 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp. pure maple syrup 1/2 tsp. baking soda optional- 1 C. nuts of choice (I've used pecans & peanuts)
Directions:
Place cooked popcorn in large bowl. In medium sauce pan, melt the Earth Balance® Buttery Spread. Add agave nectar/maple syrup, sugar & molasses. Stir continuously over medium heat and add in vanilla and cinnamon (optional). Bring to boil. Turn off heat. Stir in baking soda and it will get all foamy. Immediately pour over popcorn and nuts (if you're adding them in). Stir until everything is well coated. Let rest for 10 minutes before eating. This is a great gift to bring to someone's house or a fun dessert the whole family will love.
